For our Children
As a community, we cherish children not just because they are the future of our church; we cherish them because they are a full part of our community right here and right now. We are delighted to offer numerous ways for our children to connect - with one another, with those in our church, and with God.
Each Sunday in 10am Worship
Children are always welcome in our worship services, with their wiggles, giggles and all!
Worship bags filled with coloring sheets, manipulatives, and more are available for all children when they enter the sanctuary. There is also a shelf of books children may choose from to bring into worship. Children are invited to come forward during our Mission Collection Time and use blue baskets to collect food and monetary donations from the congregation. Afterwards, the children are invited to the front of the Sanctuary for the Time for Children near the beginning of the service. Please be aware that if you do not want your child to be on the live-stream of the service, they need to sit down at the bottom of the stairs. After the Time for Children, children are escorted to the Children's Wing for Godly Play. Outdoor play will be also available when the weather permits. Nursery care is available each Sunday from 9:45 to 11:15am for those who wish to bring their infants and toddlers to the Children's Wing for the entire service. Children are welcome to remain in the Sanctuary for the service if that's what works best for your family! |
Each Sunday in Worship and Wonder
The four rooms in our Children's Wing are clean and bright and always ready to welcome the creativity and curiosity of children!

Baking Bread for World Communion Sunday
Do you have a traditional bread that's a favorite in your family? Have you traveled to different places in the world and discovered a bread you just loved? Please let us know if your family would like to bake bread from a different country or culture or a favorite in your own household to share at our Communion Table on Sunday, October 1st as part of our celebration of World Communion! On this Google form please let us know the name of your bread, where it's from and any other details you'd like to share. We also ask that you provide an ingredient card, or email the list of ingredients to Emily Guerrero (emily@uccaustin.org), for your bread. The card will be placed under the bread on the Communion Table for any who may need to check ingredients due to allergies/dietary needs. If you have questions or need any other information, please let Emily know! |
Calling all 4th and 5th graders! We invite you to join The GECKO Group! God encourages Caring, Kindness, and Outreach...and we do, too!
This service-focused group for 4th and 5th graders will be based on the passage from Matthew 25:34-45, which teaches that “Jesus Work = Love Work.” The group meets once-a-month at the church for a service project for the group. Parents are welcome to stay, but it is not required. All volunteers with the group will follow the church's Safe Conduct Policy. Contact GECKO Coordinator, Tracy Brown, at kindness@uccaustin.org if you have questions or want to get involved with this fun group! |
