Christian Church
"UCC is a leading congregation for ecumenical and interreligious concerns in the community. The leadership offered by the congregation of UCC has fostered improved relationships among all. Your involvement in community service events has made a difference in the lives of neighbors, both around the block and around the world. Austin is a better community with your faithful witness." – local non-profit director
A Brief History
Some churches will tell you what sets them apart.
We want you to know how we came together. In 1989, the people
of Pecan Springs Christian Church and Trinity United Church
of Christ began talking to each other about uniting into one
congregation. Those conversations gave local expression to
national discussions taking place between the churches two
denominations, the Disciples of Christ and the United Church
of Christ.
In 1991, the congregations voted to join
in partnership and
form United Christian Church. Over the next few years, the
churches sold both pieces of property and built our
facility at 3500 West Parmer Lane, Austin, and have come
together as one congregation. Today, United Christian Church
has 240 members. Our Sunday worship attendance is about 150.
We are a growing, vibrant faith community.
