PERIOD PROJECT
Hearts'N'Hands Mission Project
Wednesday, April 18 @ 6:30-7:30pm
Imagine how hard it is to be homeless. Now imagine how much harder it is to be a woman who’s homeless. Many women experiencing homelessness cannot afford the simple supplies they need to manage their monthly menstruation. (Did you know that period products are not exempt from sales taxes in Texas and may not be purchased with food stamps?)
So on Wednesday, April 18, we will work once again with the good folks at FloCode (formerly Homeless Period Project ATX) to take donated menstrual supplies and pack them into individual kits to be distributed to women through local shelters and service agencies.
What do we need? Pads, tampons, panty-liners, and individually wrapped feminine wipes. (FloCode has determined these are the items that work best.) Please bring your donations to church on Sundays or contact the church office to arrange a time to drop them off. Then join us April 18 for the Period Party!
